Super SDE from last saturday wedding

I had a blast time of shooting at their wedding last Saturday. It’s been a while that I was only commissioned to shoot a wedding photography only as the last wedding I shot for wedding photography back in May. I have been shooting a lot in Fusion and also cinematography under the BIG films week in week out. So their wedding was like my birthday time again.

I knew it’s going to have a super awesome time because they trust me fully. Remember what I said on my post “Street Prewedding” about their prewedding photo. They are amazing couple who had so much faith on me. Like what happened on the wedding day, I saw an opportunity to create a super cool photo of Ngan in the middle of the street. A lot of people thought it was a crazy idea. But I overheard Ngan convinced everyone “Wiki is a professional, he knows what he’s doing”. I heard that it made me asking back to myself “Do I really know?” hahhahaa *lol* but of course I did, just required a lot of faith on me. This is not a photoshop, this is real photo :D

I was absolutely on fire that day. Hopefully I got the opportunity to post separately in the future for their wedding still pictures. More to come!

Anyway, it’s a super pleasure to have the honour these two love birds who has been going out for 12 years. Wow, that long! But surprisingly their speech at the reception seriously sounded that they just got together yesterday. No kidding, they are so cute and cool together. I wish I record their speech so I could advise to all of my potential clients how this is what the speech should be done. I saw a lot of people cried of course happy tears.

This SDE is also a special one for me because Desgi attended a wedding two months ago where I also presented the same day edit claiming my SDE for Phim and Jarina was his personal favourite. I promised to him that I would try to do my best to create his one to be his proud moment to treasure. That’s why I had been searching for the perfect song since then. Normally, I at least prepare 2 songs for the same day edit presentation. But since I got to know them in the prewedding time, I quite know who they are. Thus, I gamble with only one perfect song for them. That is “The Light” by Sara Bareilles, one of my personal all time favourites. I guess that the gamble paid off because the reception after the presentation told it all. It also made a big honour when Desgi and Ngan came to hug me straight away and say “Wiki, you made me cry again” :D

Anyway, without further ado please check it out!!! I think I have watched this a hundred times :D

Have fun at the honeymoon guys!

I can’t believe it’s been more than 2 months from the last time I blogged. Oh well, it’s not new I guess how terrible blogger I am :D

I am just back from the Indonesian trip where I wasn’t there only to shoot weddings but I was so fortunate to tag along my church team to go a mission trip to several places in Eastern Indonesian. I hope you can check it out some of my sneak peek images from my instagram :D And of course you can check it out my new venture in motion pictures under the BIG films, I will blog this matter on the separate post.

So there are all of my excuses of why I didn’t blog lately. In other words, my boss didn’t pay me to blog hahahah *lol* just kidding.

Desgi and Ngan first time came to my studio after the referrals from Robert + Cindy and also Felix + Dianne to enquire about my motion pictures expertise as they had booked the wedding photographer. However, they decided to book someone else :( When my assistant told me about it, I was kinda disappointed. You know when you are in the industry for too long, you are kinda know what kind of couples whom you wish to be booked. Desgi and Ngan are the couple whom I think is my ideal couple. Not only they are good looking :D but they also are not afraid to express themselves. They are perfect in my style :D Even though, they didn’t book me in but they still referred me several couples to my door. I didn’t know how to thank them for that :D

Anyway, for some reasons their wedding photographer happened to be unavailable, they straight away contacted me to check my availability. I don’t know whether it is coincidence or not but some reason I happened to be available on that day because of cancelled booking. So here we are now :D

I remember this could be the second time someone asked me what really I want to shoot in pre-wedding photo by clients. It’s like to remind me how I introduced the idea about “Life is Beautiful” concept that allows couples to express the real them in the natural way. Now when the question was asked, I smiled and replied back “I love street photography, that’s what I want to shoot the engagement session”.

The idea of what I want to shoot this engagement session for Desgi and Ngan is inspired from how I normally shoot candidly my kids using my iphone or via instagram. And how much I love the photos coming out from any family trip. Since I couldn’t have a long trip with them, so I just told them to let me to spend time with them for a few hours of their weekend. And there you go.

We took it easy about the timing and also traveled places. It started from the shoe shop, lunch in sushi train, walking trip from CBD to circular quay to catch up ferry, and Manly. So it’s not surprising to see Desgi and Ngan full of food around them, because Desgi is always hungry (Seriously).

Desgi confesses he is a shoe collector. So not only girl loves buying shoes right?

Then they relied on their iphone’s Good Food Guide app to look for what to eat for lunch.

Sushi train is the destination

Seriously this looks yummy especially when I was shooting.

Not sure you can see it, I could see how satisfied Desgi was after the meal from the way he sat :D

We missed the ferry to manly, so we were full around in circular quay for a bit

Of course they didn’t trust me to shoot a better look of them, so they relied on stranger and their phone camera… *lol*

Feeling proud with his new shoes, Des :P

“Hmm feeling a bit hungry now!” Desgi said.

“I thought we just had lunch” Ngan said

Finally they couldn’t resist not to miss the famous fish and chips in manly

Ben & Jerry was next for the dessert :D

We stopped by to have a quick snap after looking at cool lighting from the car garage in one of the apartment we passed by.

Check it out for more photos in my facebook page.

Phew, I successfully shot a prewedding session almost without posing, only to give a direction of where to go and to sit. I am happy :D Thanks guys for giving the opportunity to play and of course to get to know and have fun with both of you :D I know I am so looking forward working my sock out on your wedding day :D

See you guys soon!
